📋 Step 1: Submit Your Expungement Form
To begin, complete our Expungement Intake Form, providing the necessary details for us to evaluate your eligibility and prepare your petition.

💵 Step 4: Prepare Your $25 Money Order
A $25 money order made out to ALEA Records is required for processing.
📌 Important: If multiple petitions are being filed, the amount may vary. Contact us if you’re unsure.
🪪 Step 5: Submit a Copy of Your Driver’s License
We need a copy of your valid driver’s license to proceed.

👮♂️ Step 6: Get Your Fingerprints Taken
Print the Fingerprint Form and take it to your local law enforcement agency to complete this requirement.
📬 Step 7: Mail or Drop Off Your Required Documents
Send the following to our office as soon as possible to avoid delays:
✔ Fingerprint Form
✔ Signed Background Check Form
✔ $25 Money Order (made out to ALEA Records)

📜 Step 8: ALEA Certified Background Check
Once we receive your documents, we will send them to ALEA (Alabama Law Enforcement Agency) to request a certified background check.
⏳ Processing Time: 2–6 weeks
🏛️ Step 9: Obtain Certified Court Records
While waiting for your background check, request a Certified Copy of Disposition or a Certified Case Action Summary from the municipal or county court where your case was originally filed.
📌 Drop off or mail these court records to our office when you receive them.
🗂️ Step 10: Petition Filing with the Court
Once we have all required documents, we will file your expungement petition in court.
⏳ Mandatory Waiting Period: 45 days (this allows all necessary parties to be properly notified).
⚖️ Step 11: Judge’s Order & Final Expungement
Once the 45-day waiting period is over, the judge will issue an order either granting or denying the expungement.
